Caring for Your Mon&Pau Leather Pieces
Due to the delicate nature of our leather, proper care is essential to maintain the integrity and beauty of your Mon&Pau pieces.
I. Do Not Spot Clean
- Avoid applying water or products directly to stains, as this may irreparably damage the garment.
2. Wash Gently
- Turn the garment inside out.
- Use a delicate cycle with cold water.
- Add a small amount of detergent for delicate fabrics (e.g., Woolite) ,about the size of an almond.
- Wash the garment ideally on the same day the stain occurs.
3. Dry Properly
Lay the garment flat to dry, keeping it inside out.
Important Note on Color and Texture
- After washing, the color of your garment may fade.
- Discoloration will depend on the base color.
- Fading is more pronounced on bright and highly pigmented colors, while it is less common with dark or very light colors.
- Like denim, the leather and its texture will evolve over time, becoming unique as it acquires a patina.
Ironing Instructions
- If ironing is needed, ensure the garment is completely dry.
- Turn it inside out and use medium heat without steam.
- Place a cloth between the iron and the fabric to protect the leather.
For Retaining Original Shine
- If you prefer to maintain the original shine and evenness of your leather, we recommend having your garment cleaned exclusively by a leather specialist.
