1. Do Not Spot Clean
- Avoid applying water or products directly to stains. Silk is delicate and may be irreversibly damaged.
2. Wash Gently
- Wash sparingly but regularly, always gently.
- Turn the garment inside out.
- Select a delicate wool/silk cycle with cold water.
- Choose a very gentle spin (maximum 300 rpm) or no spin at all.
- Add a small amount of detergent designed for silk or wool (about the size of an almond).
- If possible, wash soon after the stain occurs.
- For extra protection, place the garment inside a pillowcase or laundry bag.
3. Dry Properly
- Hang the garment to air dry naturally.
- Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Never tumble dry.
4. Important Note on Shape and Texture
- Some silk garments, such as pleated pieces or those requiring shaping, should only be dry cleaned to preserve their structure.
- Silk naturally wrinkles: iron inside out on low heat, without steam. Place a cotton cloth between the iron and the fabric to protect it.
Eco Note
Whenever the label allows, machine wash your silk instead of dry cleaning. This reduces water and chemical use and helps extend the life of your garment.
